This is a wooden table lamp made out of four abacuses. The lamp was purchased in Japan but the abacus used in the construction of this lamp are the Chinese style (two beads on the top row). As shown there are two 60 watt bulbs being used & is fully operational. The on/off switch is located on the cord as there is no switch in the electrical parts of the lamp. Based on the age of the electrical components of the lamp the use of higher than 60 watt bulbs would not be recommended. Because of the age of the lamp there is no sign on the lamp as to what wattage bulbs should be use. The shade is old & needs to be replaced so the lamp will be shipped to you without the shade. The shade pole has a thumb screw so the shade you purchase can be adjusted to best show off the abacus base. The pole adjustment can be used to adjust the height of the lamp top from 22 to 31 inches. The size of the current shade is 12 inches high & a diameter of 17 inches bottom & 8 inches diameter top.
