Description
This is a framed print of a Canton of Bern Bernese peasant girl serving in the city circa 1805. It features traditional dress of the early 1800's. The entire framed piece measures 11 X 7 with a frame depth of .5. The print portion measures 7.5 X 4.5. The information on the back shows that this piece was framed in an Arabic country. The handwritten notation states it was given to the original owner by a president of the Swiss Airlines (date unknown). This piece is in good vintage condition. The print is in good condition with no major issues noted. The colors remain bright & clear. The backing on the frame is a bit different & appears to have been reinforced with framing tape. It has been left as it was found at an estate sale. There is a metal piece that sticks out slightly from the top back - unsure if it was once a hook. It can be removed if you choose (see last photo).
