Description
When hand-weaving on a tapestry frame I use the landscape for my inspiration. This piece is inspired by Arbroath on the east coast of Scotland. It includes finds from the shore which have been woven into the piece along with strips of photographs of the landscape. The warp (up & down threads) are made from wool string, other handspun wool yarns have also been used along with the beach finds. It is secured with red silk thread symbolising the invisible thread that binds those of us destined to meet, the thread may stretch or tangle but will never break.
