This vintage vase by celebrated glass artist Frank Thrower is a 1980s English design classic! A versatile piece, as it can be used as a candleholder, bud or bulb vase, or as a small statement piece in its own right. We adore its smokey pewter-grey finish & minimal Scandinavian inspired lines. Key Points A beautiful crystal glass vase/candleholder Stunning smokey thick walled grey glass Simple squat shape, heavyweight with polished underside Made by Wedgwood Limited With original manufacturing sticker to lip in very good condition History: Frank Thrower was the founder & designer for Dartington Glass, England, which he established in 1966. He was influenced heavily by Scandinavian glass designs in the post-war years. The company was bought by Wedgwood Glass, in 1982 & they continued with many of Thrower's designs. He specialised in moulded glass. Year of manufacture: c. 1980 Designer: Frank Thrower Origin: England Approximate Measurements: 11cm h / 7cm W Diameter at rim Condition: in very good condition overall with no major damage of note. It does have a few surface small scratches to its 'belly', but these do not detract from the look or display value of the piece. It retains its original sticker.
