Made by Mundus around 1920, these rare Art Nouveau chairs are in stunning condition & add timeless charm, quality, colour & style to any setting. The beautiful steam-pressed crocodile print to the backs & seats make these much sought after examples of these rare bistro chairs. Still retaining their original Mundus stamps & labels to the underside, these were likely made in the 1920s after Thonet amalgamated their Polish factory with Mundus. They feature steam-bent beech wood throughout & have distinctive attractive curved back legs that become broader towards the top. They are joined by the crocodile print back splat that matches the seat, with a circular bentwood seat frame & leg supports & shapely curved front legs. The outstanding condition, superb pattern design & rich chocolate-russet tones with golden swirls make this a very special pair indeed. CONDITION These are in very good condition, especially for their age. They are structurally sound & apart from some natural wear to the print on the seats from use & the odd slight knock & mark, as you'd expect with chairs of their age, they're in superb condition & if treated well should last many more decades to come - please see the photos.
