A gorgeous rare antique solid oak bureau bookcase in wonderful condition. Most likely made by renowned Arts & Crafts artisans Shapland & Petter for Liberty of London around 1910, this versatile slim bureau provides a workspace, bookcase & storage & is ideal for furniture lovers looking for an office laptop/writing desk which also works wonderfully as a hall/bedroom/kitchen console/occasional table with storage. Light enough to be easily moved around, this beautiful & multipurpose space-saving piece, one of the best we've seen, was made by master craftsmen for premium clientele & won't fail to impress. Featuring gorgeously toned solid light oak with eye-catching grain throughout, a wonderful open upper gallery with sphinx-like carvings, a beautiful fall-flap/pull-down desk with a shapely apron to support the desk flap & gorgeous stylised brass Art Nouveau decorations & handle with working lock & key. It has handy interior fitted shelves, lovely cute cubby holes, a carved pen holder & ink well & two lower book shelves above a shapely apron & sturdy splayed feet. Practical, stylish, adaptable & space-saving, this show-stopping antique piece is brilliantly suited to modern living, providing a perfect workspace for your laptop as well as a great place for storing trinkets, books & ornaments.
