This Gefle cup is called Fontana by Berit Ternell. Fontana isn't a common swedish word, but its derived from the Italian for fountain in the sense of the source of a spring (an appropriate name for a drinking vessel!). The Fontana was immensely popular when it was released but because of that is fairly available even now. Berit won prizes for her work & during the 60s was considered the foremost designer at Gefle. The coffee cup is 7 cm diameter & 5,5cm height. The saucer is 13 cm diameter. . Passionate about retro?
