Art Nouveau gold necklace set with rubies & seed pearls; this is a great example of art Nouveau jewellery from the turn of the 20th century, with its curves & fluid lines typifying the style which was the height of fashion at the time. This stylish necklace has a gold section with rubies & seed pearls & a pearl drop suspended from a carved & scrolled bale, reminiscent of the preceding Victorian era. The lower section is attached by chains to a further chain with a push-in click clasp which is in very good working order. Weight: 5.70gm. Pendant section measures 3.5cm x 2cm (1 1/2″ x 3/4″), length of chain: 41cm (16″). Stamped 9ct. This necklace is in very good condition & dates from around 1890 – 1910.
