Beautiful old Tay woven throw, rug or hanging. Handmade in the mountainous regions of Northern Vietnam. Natural hand woven cotton with pure raw silk thread detailing. The age of this piece, approximately 50 years. The cotton would have been made by the tribes people & dyed with naturally sourced dyes. A piece of this size will have taken several weeks of skilled work by one the Tay tribeswomen. Classic design of people on horseback. Traditionally it would have been used as decoration for an altar or pagoda, or just as a blanket. Today it would make a stunning throw, table cloth, thin rug or a wall decoration. Entirely unique vintage piece! Pictures don't do it justice. in good condition for the age, three very small holes.
