Most unusual antique German Dresden painted paper Christmas tree topper ornament in the form of an eagle with outstretched wings & tiny glass eyes. Made in 2 halves the halves have separated a touch at it's head as shown, the head skews slightly to the left it looks like although this may be the intended position. It's hard to say because I have never owned this piece or the non tree topper version. Dates to the late 19th or very early 20th Century.
