Double hemisphere hand colored map of the world, based upon the earlier map of Hondius from 1617. Embelished with allegorical spandrel vigenttes representing celestial hemispheres, north & south poles, sailing ships & sea monsters. Shows North America extending to Japan, course of the St. Laurence River ends in the American Southwest, Japan shown as a oddly shaped island, also shows Great wall of China. Map includes detail notations from Marco Polo, most notably the place name Beach in Terra Australis Incognita.
