Beautiful small Sholm ceramic vase from the series Nordlys, design by Maria Philippi. This vase is part of the Nordlys (Northern light) series & made in the 1960s. All pieces from this series have a wonderful deep blue glaze with a brown/yellow emblem. The vase is in very good condition, but has two small imperfections in the glazing (see photos) We also have two of these vases in a smaller size available Height: 20 cm Diameter: 8 cm Weight: 686 grams The Sholm ceramics factory was founded in 1835 in Rnne on the Danish Island of Bornholm. It was closed in 1996. During its existence the Sholm factory produced many iconic & highly collectable pieces. Main designers for Sholm where Noomi Backhausen , Einar Johansen, Maria Philippi , Paul Brandborg, Rigmor Nielsen, Josef Simon, Gerd Hjort Petersen & Per Rehfeldt Most post 1964 pottery from Sholm is stoneware (stentoj in Danish).
