Date: 1960s Size: 14.5 x 10.5 inches interior, matted to 20 x 16 inches Artist: Barraband, Jacques About the Poster: Jacques Barraband (or Pierre-Paul Barraband) was a French zoological & botanical illustrator, renowned for his lifelike renderings of tropical birds. His pictures were based on mounted specimens & his illustration was considered the most accurate ones made during the early 1800s. His works were so well-respected that Napoleon I hired Barraband to decorate the banquet hall at St. Cloud. We've had this 1960s re-issue of Barraband's work, printed by the well-respected firm of L'Imprimerie de Langlois, professionally double-matted. Ready to frame.
