The white glaze overlapped the navy blue glaze to produce a delicate gray blue color in the middle of this sculptural vase. in spite of its cantilevered form, this pottery container is quite stable. Being weighted toward the bottom, it will not tip over easily. The rim edge has been fluted in a pattern that follows the hexagonal faceting of the body . The rim opening is wide enough for a large bouquet or an assortment of utensils. The interior glaze is white . This utensil holder has a rim diameter of about 3 1/2 (9cm) & a height of about 5 3/4(14.5cm). This stoneware vase was fired to 2300 degrees F. It is microwave & dishwasher safe.
