The slight asymmetry of the form & the undulations of the rim point to the fact that this is a completely hand-built piece. This unevenness of the rim is sometimes referred to as a live edge. The white glaze's tendency to separate on high points on the rim adds to this textural element of the cup & increases the interest to tongue & lip. These textural elements added to the cup's leather like burnt orange body & nonchalant royal blue neck provide for a rustic farmhouse charm to these tiny tumblers. The lace pattern is easy to see & feel through the burnt orange glaze. The interior is glazed in a matte white glaze. This handle-less mini mug would make an excellent wine cup, juice glass or hand warming winter tea cup.
