This very pretty, hand-glazed, ceramic dough bowl features a raised vertical ribs, with concentric sets of pastel (cobalt blue & terracotta-pink) stripes, on both its body & its rim circumference. This yellow ware piece has tons of character & soul, with numerous signs of age & authenticity, including areas of misregistered blue glaze (see listing images,) stilt marks, hand finished rim, glaze pops, pitting & other inherent production quirks. Produced approximately 70 - 80 years ago, this wonderful old bowl has just a few light rim flakes & two small/shallow/old chips & a very faint (almost imperceptible) hairline on its center bottom base. This bowl has a clean interior & is tested watertight. It measures approximately 10.75 across by 5.5 high, with a 1.5 band around its top edge, & would have originally been sold for use in a nested set. A beautiful addition to any art pottery or American stoneware collection, & great accent for modern farmhouse, rustic, or vintage kitchen decor. Superb on a kitchen counter filled with fruit, or as the centerpiece for a summer table setting!!
