A large Victorian antique pale oak wellington chest by Shoolbred having decorative gadroon carved top, an arrangement of six fitted drawers each with two brass knobs, reeded pillars to either side, raised on a plinth base. Maker’s mark ‘JAS Shoolbred & Co.’ to the top drawer. Item Ref; M-1582 . DIMENSIONS: Height – 136cm / Width – 72cm / Depth – 47cm . CONDITION REPORT: in good antique condition throughout with some signs of age & wear. General surface wear throughout including age-related marks to the top & to the sides (pictured). Some of the brass knobs have lost their original back plates & have similar replacements. The lock is missing from the right-hand side pillar so the chest cannot be locked. Structurally solid & sound. A rather good piece of an unusual size & colour. Our carpenter inspects, repairs, & restores all our items, so you can have full confidence that what you buy from us is home ready!
