Keeping the tail or a tuft of mane/forelock hair from our companions upon their passing is a tradition some of us equestrians hold. What better way to keep them in your heart than with an honored spot in your home or barn. However, this custom piece would be a lovely addition to your home, or a gift for any equestrian, no matter what the occasion - even if no equine companion has passed, as it requires only a small amount of hair to make the tassel. This beautiful handmade piece would compliment many styles including: Bohemian, Country, Farmhouse, Ranch, Western/Southwest, Rustic, Shabby Chic, Coastal, Eclectic & Romantic. This memorial keepsake can be purchased with or without the addition of your horses mane/tail/forelock at no extra cost. The horse's/buyer's contribution(s) is/are mailed to me (buyer pays for that shipping), then it is & incorporated free of charge. Each horseshoe heart is created using two authentic steel horseshoes, natural cotton cording, & an assortment of beads (pictured are wooden & teal beads). Buyer may also choose to send in their own shoes as a contribution to the piece but please check with the seller first. We can only take STEEL shoes at this time. Shoes are cleaned, bent & welded into shape, cleaned again, & then sealed or painted as the customer prefers. Hair is washed, conditioned, & drip dried before incorporating. Different colors of cording can be used upon request, please contact the seller as additional colors may come with additional charges, or may need to be ordered an therefore can affect the shipping date. Finished dimensions are ABOUT 8 wide & 18 from top to bottom, not including the tail. As this is a handmade man-made item no two pieces are exactly alike. I recommend a minimum of 16 of tail length but the more length the better.
