Description
DEGU A very large & rare nickel-plated bronze or solid brass French art deco pendant light made around 1930. It holds a large sized bowl by Degu done in clear partly frosted molded-pressed glass. This Degu model #560 in the old Degu product catalog has a diameter of 53 cm (20-7/8) & a weight of 6, 45 kilos (14, 2 lb). This is the extra-large version of a smaller bowl (model #594) which is less rare & has a diameter of 40 cm. I did a picture with a common sized 35 cm Degue bowl the 40 cm version & the 53 cm one to give you a better idea of the size of this pendant light. in my other listings you can find two pendants with the same mounting & the smaller 40 cm bowls. The lamp is in very good condition. I have re-nickeled & patinated fixture. The chandelier has a height of 61, 5 cm (24-1/4 inches). It's rewired & holds an American standard base socket. For European countries I will place a E27 one. Priority airmail with full insurance. The bowl is too large to ship with normal post (Dutch Post - USPS) so I will use a carrier like Fedex or UPS.
