For sale here is this great vintage German 1960s Armchair. circa 1965 DESCRIPTION,This fantastic mid century chair was made in East Germany sometime in the 1960s we bought it in Berlin last month. Dimensions (approx) Height -80cm width- 72cm Depth- 83cm Seat height - 45cm seat depth-54cm This very stylish chair is in fantastic condition The standout design feature is the upward sloping arm of the chair It typical of the style & design from this East German era of the mid 1960s. It is a fantastic looking chair which ever way you look at it & would bring a lot of style to any room in the house. It is typical of this period with lovely styling with little details like the splayed tapering Barcelona leg at the front & back, understated but a really effective way of lightening the whole chair, there is a small white plastic slider the end of each leg, removable This style of chair are very fashionable at the moment, chairs from this period like these have become something of a style icon, so much so they are being reproduced now. The fabric is all original & all of the world is in good condition & a nice dark wood colour CONDITION.The frame is very strong & sturdy & there is no damage to the main structure of the chairs, no woodworm, no wobbly arms or legs. All of the wood is in good condition, the colour of the wood is a dark colour. There are one or two tiny marks that look like coffee stains when it's on the arm the other is on the back but it's so faint I can barely photograph it but I do have to point it out, It is a fantastic shape & could be recovered in a more contemporary fabric if you so desire, but personally I feel it is perfect as it is. Finally I will add that it is very comfortable. the seat is sprung but firm & the shape of the back is very supportive. This chair in a good London mid century shop would be 500. I know that because I supply a lot of them, if I had a pair I would ask 600+ So here is your chance to buy a great chair at a trade price. Delivery.
