Fantastic print of the original woodblock 'New Year's Eve Foxfires at the Changing Tree' by Utagawa Hiroshige from his series 'One Hundred Famous Views of Edo'. in legend these foxes served as messengers for the Inari cult of eastern Japan, which worshipped the god of the rice field. Farmers from the Inari would count the foxfires to predict the upcoming rice harvest - many foxfires were a welcome sight.
