Traditional colors of the Vejigantes were green, yellow, & red or red & black. Today, Vejigantes wear brightly colored, ornate masks corresponding to the colors of their costumes that detail bat-like wings. The masks are typically made in the cities of Ponce where they are made from paper mach or Loiza where they are made out of coconuts.
