Yunt Mountains are in western Anatolia, the Aegean Region of Turkey. Although this rug has a very free look & displays great individual creativity, in reality only traditional, symbolic motifs are used. It was woven by a free-handed weaver in the region around Yunt mountain, in western Anatolia, who could balance every empty space with motifs from her traditional repertoire. The tree of life pattern is in the center & explains the eternity belief of Anatolian nomadic people. Borders are ornamented with geometric roses with stars inside.
