Vintage Japanese square coaster set. Lacquer style (plastic). Square shaped box with removable lid. Top of lid with slight curve & featuring a large Japanese character painted in metallic gold. Original 'MADE in JAPAN' sticker on box underside. Inside of box holds five square coasters with same gold calligraphy style character. 3 3/8 inches (width/length across box) | 1 7/8 inches (height of box & lid) | 2 7/8 inches (width/length of coasters) Good vintage condition. Some light scuffing on box (picture seven). Gold character on box appears slightly less brilliant than characters on coasters from exposure.
