Description
A beautiful mug with spring Bluebell flowers as decoration. The dimensions of the mugs are height 8 -9 cm, diameter at top 7 - 8 cm. I make each mug myself so please expect some variation in size & decoration between each item - each one is unique. The mugs are made on the wheel & once the clay dries out a little, I decorate them. I use coloured slips (liquid clay which I stain different colours), & sgraffito technique. The slips provide a colour through which marks are made usually with a fine needle, showing the colour of the clay behind. Following a biscuit firing, I apply a transparent food safe glaze & fire my kiln to 1250 oC, a stoneware temperature. The design is inspired by the swathes of bluebells that appear each Spring in woodlands in the UK. Each mug has my makers mark added to the base of the handle. It's my initials made into a butterfly. Dishwasher safe. All items are packaged in a special cardboard box, secured with paper ribbon & a business card. They are then placed in a further box with compostable chips for transit.
