Description
Hi Here is a very beautiful antique vase. Likely dating from the 1920s it has a beautiful organic shape & peacock-feather like drip glaze decoration. This is an example of a distinctive type of faiencerie produced in Belgium in the 1920s onwards. The main colour is cornflower blue, with a matte texture. There is then a shiny drip glaze in yellow & ochre brown. The base is marked with the pattern number. The usual Belgium mark is mostly obscured by the glaze but the B & E are visible. There is a chunk of glaze missing at the base. This was probably lost at the time of production as the glaze literally dripped down & when the vase was removed after drying it will have been pulled away.
