Origin: This piece was made by artisans in Santa Maria Tlahuitoltepec, Oaxaca in the Sierra Mixe. Technique: This bule vase was made using local clay from Tlahuitoltepec. It was cooked in open fire in a natural finish with slight burn marks adoring its surface. Variations in color & size of each piece is part of artisanal & hand-made process. Wind, fire temp, debris, & weather all play a role in the finished look. Just like snowflakes, no two pieces are the same. This beautiful piece is inspired by local gourds called bules found along the coast of Oaxaca. This piece is completely unglazed, but due to the extensive polish it received, it comes off as glazed. Dimensions: (hand-made dimensions may vary slightly) - 6.25 in H - 4.25 in W - 1.25 in mouth opening Care: Wash & dry before first use & storage.
