This is a great pair of hand thrown, hand painted clay pottery coffee mugs that would be at home in a farmhouse or country style kitchen. They look to have a red clay base, painted mustard yellow with red accents & interior. One features a sheep & the other is a bird. They came out of a local estate sale that had items that spanned decades & were from all over the world, as the previous owners where military.... so I cannot be 100% sure where they came from. They clearly have some years on them, to the point where there is some crazing to the glaze. There are 2 small chips to the base of one, as shown. There are darkened areas under the glaze, too, but I believe this was intentional. They are 4.25 tall, about 3 1/8 across the top & 2.5 across the base.
