ROYAL DOULTON CHINA DESSERT PLATE - 1924 Robert Allen, hand painted A beautiful Royal Doulton china dessert plate from the Robert Allen Studio, hand painted, blue with strawberries around the gilded wavy edge. The design is pretty rare, & was part of a dessert service. The handwritten numbers on the back date this piece to the early 1920s. The number RA 9626B is for 1921, & the number H2017 is for the date 1924. Condition: No chips, there are a couple of patches where the glaze has worn off on the blue part - one patch is about 2 x 2cm in size - see last photo (or could have been a manufacturing flaw?) Diameter: 22 cm (8 3/4 in) approx.
