Atmospheric black & white print of an authentic trullo in the Italian region Apulia, also known as Puglia. Trulli are typical for Puglia. You find them only in this southern Italian region & especially in Valle d'Itria. Most trulli have been renovated into beautiful houses, but that is not the case with this trullo. The trullo originated around the year 1500. The inhabitants of the trulli built these houses without cement, because they could quickly be dismantled. in this way they had to pay less tax.
