This wonderful pair of carver chairs are date stamped 1943 & were made by high end furniture maker R.Tyzack. Tyzack specialised in industrial & office furniture from their High Wycombe base. These chairs are in excellent condition for their 78 years of age; the dark stain has worn across the arms & front stretcher to reveal the stunning golden tones of the wood beneath (looks like oak). Although the design is simple the proportions are absolutely perfect making these a very attractive pair of chairs; they are timeless & would fit any kind of home whether contemporary or traditional. One of the chairs has signs of having had woodworm previously. This all appears on one timber strut underneath the seat. This is not visible unless the chair is turned upside down. Although there are no signs that this is an active infestation we have given both chairs a woodworm treatment to be on the safe side.
