This stunning little cushion is handmade from vintage kimono silk. The silk is a mauve & white shibori with an intricate 'asanoha' (or star leaf) design created using the awe inspiring shibori method. The reverse of this cushion is also stunning, in a dark grape vintage kimono silk satin silk with a cloud design incorporated into the weave. There are two available to make an eye catching pair; pattern placement may be slightly different on the second cushion. But despite its contemporary feel, the fabric has a vintage feel about it. A silver grey cotton silk blend fabric is used for the reverse of the cushion. This unique cushion has been made from a piece of cloth taken from a rare Japanese kimono dating from the 1960's. (No kimonos were injured during the making of these cushions. All fabric is taken from abandoned & preloved kimono!) The kimono has been carefully unpicked & I have chosen particular details in the cloth to look good as a picture on the cushion. This cushion would make a really special gift given as if a beautiful work of art or sculpture & would make any bed or hallway look very beautiful indeed! Each cushion: 100% silk cover Measures 30cm x 30cm. Has a duck feather filler & non-removable cover. Specialist dry-clean only. Do not get wet. Keep out of direct sunlight!
