Hello, & thanks for stopping by lumenowl! INTRO: A completely original creation, this gorgeous, sleek little table lamp came about as a brainwave during in the middle of doing a hundred other things. The 1950's teak base has been harvested from a wood & ceramic lamp that broke during transit to me, but I liked the teak sections so much, I kept them, hoping I'd one day have use for them. The small teak base has been retrofitted with deco-styled brass cap & subsequently a lamp holder. I've paired the lamp with a contemporary-yet-extremely-retro conical brass shade, giving the appearance of a tree. This gorgeous, one-of-a-kind little lamp would make fantastic mood lighting tucked away on a sideboard or in a large cupboard. - CONDITION: The original teak is in excellent vintage condition, save for a few minor surface-level scratches. I've given it a gentle polish with beeswax, & it now shines up a storm. The modern brushed brass shade is also in excellent condition, with just the most minor of scuffs. - THE TECHNICAL BIT: TREE has been fully (but respectfully) restored from the original 1950's lamp parts. On top of the stepped brass plate now sits a high quality, machine-milled copper E14/SES version, & thus making the lamp compatible with bulbs sold in the UK & Europe. The lamp holder has been extended from the base with new brass to ensure maximum visibility once the brass shade is added. TREE has been wired with luxurious quality bark coloured linen & rayon covered cable in a fantastic zig-zag pattern, featuring high quality black inline rocker switches 20cm from the lamp bases (and a further 1m to the matching black UK 3-pin plug). The metal lamp holder is fully earthed using three-core cable, & the lamp has been thoroughly PAT tested & approved (with a sticker affixed near the plug to show the PASS status). Components comprise of a British-made & certified lamp holders & plugs, & Italian-made cable & switches, which have passed or exceeded relevant CE & EU electrical integrity tests. Finally, the base has been sealed with new felt, to ensure smooth contact with soft furnishings. The lamp includes a 4w amber-tinted E14 LED G45 2700K globe bulb, which provides warm but bright light, & creates fantastic up & downlighting through the metal shade. - SPECIFICATIONS: Height: 26cm (Base + Shade) Width: 12cm Depth: 12cm Weight: 1KG - INTERNATIONAL BUYERS: Whilst lumenowl lamps are by default wired for the UK market, I am more than happy to adapt for use the world over!
