Lamps are modelled with a variety of shades to give a prospective buyer an idea of what might work in terms of size, shape & colour. If the shade modelled is available for purchase, the link to the third party seller is provided in the listing. - INTRO This beautiful, ringed Danish teak lamp has been fully cleaned, restored & rewired. A gorgeous example of Scandinavian minimalism, this lamp would fit in beautifully with any similarly styled interior. - A BIT OF HISTORY The lamp features no distinctive makers marks, but the original cabling & lamp holder easily date it back to at least the late 1950's or early 1960's. - CONDITION The base is in excellent vintage condition, with gorgeous grain swirls that have revealed themselves perfectly with after gentle cleaning & polishing with beeswax. A few scuffs & minor dents in the wood can be found, but these are simply part of the vintage charm. The brass lamp holder assembly was damaged & scuffed, & was spoiling the aesthetics of the lamp. As such, they have been replaced with brand new brass, which absolutely pops against the gorgeously glossy honeyed teak. - THE TECHNICAL BIT RIDGE has had all existing electrical components removed & replaced with modern variants. in the place of the original Bakelite B22 lamp holder now sits a gorgeous, machine-milled brass E27/ES version with new matching brass fitments, extended from the base to ensure maximum visibility once a lampshade is added. RIDGE has been rewired with luxurious quality bark coloured linen & rayon covered cable, featuring a high quality white inline rocker switch 20cm from the lamp base (and a further 1m to the matching white UK 3-pin plug). The metal lamp holder is earthed using three-core cable, & RINGS has been thoroughly PAT tested & approved (with a sticker affixed near the plug to show the PASS status). Components comprise of a British-made & certified lamp holder & plug, & Italian-made cable & switch, which have passed or exceeded relevant CE & EU electrical integrity tests.
