Lamps are modelled with a variety of shades to give a prospective buyer an idea of what might work in terms of size, shape & colour. If the shade modelled is available for purchase, the link to the third party seller is provided in the listing. - INTRO A true one off, this handmade wooden lamp from the 1940's was passed down within the same family. Constructed from teak & featuring a ring mounted upon an elyptical base, this gorgeous, unique lamp is cottagecore at its finest. The lamp has been brought safely into the 21st century with all new components. - CONDITION The base is in excellent vintage condition, with gorgeous grain swirls that have revealed themselves perfectly with after gentle cleaning & polishing with beeswax. A few scuffs & minor dents in the wood can be found, but these are simply part of the vintage charm. The original brass lamp holder assembly was damaged & scuffed, & was spoiling the aesthetics of the lamp. As such, it have been replaced with brand new brass, which absolutely pops against the gorgeously glossy honeyed teak. - THE TECHNICAL BIT RING has had all existing electrical components removed & replaced with modern variants. in the place of the original corroded Bakelite B22 lamp holder now sits a gorgeous, machine-milled brass E27/ES version with new matching brass fitments, extended from the base to ensure maximum visibility once a lampshade is added. RIDGE has been rewired with luxurious quality linen & rayon covered cable in a fantastic black & white herringbone pattern, featuring a high quality white inline rocker switch 20cm from the lamp base (and a further 1m to the matching white UK 3-pin plug). The metal lamp holder is earthed using three-core cable, & RINGS has been thoroughly PAT tested & approved (with a sticker affixed near the plug to show the PASS status). Components comprise of a British-made & certified lamp holder & plug, & Italian-made cable & switch, which have passed or exceeded relevant CE & EU electrical integrity tests.
