Antique Sterling spoon 8 1/4 long in good vintage condition. Age/Era: Circa 1863- 1890s. There is a hallmark. Sterling. the spoon has stamps: lion, anchor, & the letter G. The spoons are about 8 1/4'' long. The spoon has a long hand. The weight of the spoon is 28g. The bowl has gold vermeil. Knowing when you have Gorham Silver - The Gorham Manufacturing Company is one of America's largest manufacturers of silver-plate & sterling pieces, along with a foundry for bronze sculpture. Gorham got its start in 1831 with Jabez Gorham in partnership with Henry Webster. Early Years Hallmarks on the silver pieces were not consistent in the first few years. in 1848, Gorham silver marks consisted of a lion, anchor, & the letter G. The signs indicate that these spoons were made in 1863-1890. Everyone interested in the jewelry should remember that he or she must like their jewelry- not just at first sight.... but for always.
