Soumak kilims are Arabic in design. This cushion however was probably made in Turkey in the soumak style using that unique design. They are flatwoven kilims interwoven with silk. It is probably circa 1990s, 2000 This cushion is beautiful, beige on the background with silk weaving of gold, red, orange & yellow, each thread depicting a scene of tiny animals & strong geometric patterns. The cushion is a little worn & muted in places, giving a vintage feel. 100 authentic, unique & sustainable. Please note the back of the cover is cotton.
