Welcome to my art studio full of unique ceramic sculptures. I designed & made Opuntia, a ceramic wall sculpture with printed & hand modelled prickly pear plants over a dusky pinkish & white surface. The hot & dusty climate of the desert are present in the pueblo colors & textures of this wall sculpture. 9 by 12 inches. The ceramic wall sculpture has a painterly layered surface reminiscent of the weathered strata of ancient sandstone. The surface is convex with silk screen printed & hand modelled 3D cactus. I made this after camping out at Kwiambal National Park where prickly pear cactus is a feature of the landscape. Bring the wide & expansive feel of the uninhabited desert to your home.
