This sculptural chandelier is a modern statement. Our design considers the atmosphere created by the light that shines out of the fixture as much as the design of the fixture itself. The reflective interior of the shades casts enchanting golden reflections on the ceiling & walls in its proximity. Since each shade can be easily manually adjusted, this chandelier provides beautiful, customizable mood lighting to suit your needs. Open the shades so that light shines down for bright direct task lighting below. Or open the shades so that light shines upward & bounces off the ceiling to fill the space with a warm, golden-hued mood light. Each lamp is built by hand by skilled craftspeople, resulting in truly a unique lighting fixture. Supplied with four 6 watt dimmable LED light bulbs that are eight times more energy efficient than incandescent, have a life span of 50,000 hours & a warm hue (2700K). This brass chandelier can be custom made upon request in stainless steel. UL Listed Parts Hardware included. Connects to an electrical box. Can be installed on a slanted ceiling. The Iris series lamps are the fruit of years of development of the patented overlapping leaves mechanism first explored in lightexture's Steamlight series. Composed of overlapping brass leaves, each Iris Lamp has two adjustable apertures; as one opens, the other closes. When the lower aperture is fully open, light shines directly down, casting textured light onto the surface below. When the upper aperture is open, patterned light shines upward & bounces off the ceiling to fill the space with a warm, indirect light. The transition between these two provides a variety of reflections & light atmospheres. It was featured in the MIT exhibition - Objects by architects.
