This flat weave Turkish kilim rug is made of 70 percent cotton & 30 percent goat hair. Cotton & wool were mixed together & spun by hand to get yarn. The color of cotton is white & the color of goat hair is dark brown. When they are mixed together, they seem gray. That is why we call them gray rugs. Gray rugs were made by Toros mountain tribes in the south of Turkey. The colors & materials of gray rugs are natural, so there are no synthetic materials. The gray rugs are a little stiff because of goat hair. I recommend my customers take off their shoes & socks to walk on the rugs because they will feel meditated due to gray kilims' nature.
