This beautiful kilim was made in Central Anatolia in the 1960s. It was made by a tribe. The tribe used flat weave technique. The color of the rug is the same as goat hair color because it was made of natural goat hair & did not get dyed. Goat hair is not as soft as sheep wool, so it is slightly more stiffer than wool. Since the material is stiff, it does not get dirty easily compared to wool rugs. There are some advantages that I would like to mention about this goat hair rug. You can use it where you have intense foot traffic & also use it as an outdoor rug, too. There is no dye on this kilim; therefore, you can see both natural light & dark tones of brown color on the rug which makes it even more beautiful. Even though the rug was weaved in the 1960s, the condition of the rug is really good. According to my experience, my goat hair rugs are inevitable for 21st century's modern houses.
