New line more photos to fiollow Heals Barbara Brown Intermesh vintage mid 70s olive, blue & black satinised cotton cushion cover, throw pillow cover, homeware decor. Hand sewn cushion cover made from Barbara Brown's iconic geometric 1973 design for Heals. ...Explaining that her geometric textile designs 'were based on machines & architecture', Brown created optical illusions using mathematical formulae to suggest a sense of motion. Other tricks included employing strongly contrasting areas of light & shade to give a three-dimensional effect. ( quote from the Heals website ) The back has been sewn in a beige linen & it has been piped in a matching blue cotton. All the seams have been double sewn & four stitched overlocked for strength. The cushion has a concealed zip on the reverse fbeneath the piping for ease of opening.
