Vintage Italian Charlie Chaplin The Kid Poster silent movie cinema film memorabilia wall art 1970s This is a vintage Italian poster of the Charlie Chaplin silent movie, The Kid. Dimensions: 38.6 in x 26.8 in (98 cm x 68 cm) The Kid is a 1921 American silent comedy-drama film written, produced, directed & starring Charlie Chaplin. This was Chaplin's first full-length film as a director. It was a huge success, & was the second-highest-grossing film in 1921, behind The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. in 2011, The Kid was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant. Innovative in its combination of comedic & dramatic elements, The Kid is widely considered one of the greatest films of the silent era. Because of the age of these posters & their history, there are areas of wear & tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn or stained. The posters are traditionally folded up & with their age are creased. The good news is that when framed, the creases & tears press up well against glass, & any rough edges can be hidden by mats.
