Vintage German school poster horse cow equestrian anatomy digestion MDI double sided wall art retro wall chart Before tablets, projectors & even books, French school teachers used to use these posters to teach children all the areas of education - mainly in history, science & technical drawings. These drawings are from the farm set. These are by the French publishing house, Maison des Instituteurs (MDI) but are produced in German. They are school posters are a series of posters from the 1950s & 1960s to guide German students about the digestion & anatomy of the cow, & on the other side, the way to rig a horse for farm work, & different types of legs & feet. 1 - Die Kuh (The cow) 2 - Das Pferd auf dem Bauernhof (The horse on the farm) The French publishing house MDI, created in 1952 by a former teacher, has as its primary purpose: to create educational tools to support teachers. Because of the age of these posters, & their use in the classroom, there are areas of wear & tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn or stained. The good news is that when framed, the tears press up well against glass, & edges can be hidden by mats. Any wear picked up from years in the classroom are part of the vintage charm. Note that this poster has been covered on the very edge with tape, but this will be easily hidden under a picture frame mat. This would be a great piece of wall art for someone looking for a lover of all things equestrian, or a steak restaurant. When framed these vibrant, colourful & detailed posters, can become a centre piece for any room, to remind us of a simpler time. These posters are sent as unframed - the wooden frame is not included.
