1998 Joan Miro Poster, personnages rhytmiques 1933-34, Surrealism, Fauvism, expressionism, gallery exhibition wall art decor This Joan Miro exhibition poster is from the Louisiana in Copenhagen, Denmark for a 1998 exhibition featuring personnages rhytmiques or Rhythmic Characters from 1933-34 Dimensions: 33 in x 23.5 in (84 cm x 60 cm) Joan Miro was a Spanish painter, sculptor, & ceramicist born in Barcelona. Earning international acclaim, his work has been interpreted as Surrealism but with a personal style, sometimes also veering into Fauvism & Expressionism. He was notable for his interest in the unconscious or the subconscious mind, reflected in his re-creation of the childlike. His difficult to classify works also had a manifestation of Catalan pride. in numerous interviews dating from the 1930s onwards, Mir expressed contempt for conventional painting methods as a way of supporting bourgeois society, & declared an assassination of painting in favour of upsetting the visual elements of established painting. What is special about exhibition & gallery posters is that they are an affordable way of getting good, unique art on the walls, as although it is not an artists original, neither is it something that has been mass reproduced. Because of the age of these posters, there are areas of wear & tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn. The good news is that when framed, the tears press up well against glass, & edges can be hidden by mats. Any wear picked up from years are part of the charm. These posters are sent as unframed.
