1996 Doctor Who Poster, Tom Baker with Melkur, BBC, vintage science fiction gifts for boys & girls & teenagers , fantasy wall art decor This is a poster from 1996 of the The Doctors with the evil Melkur from an episode from 1982. Printed by Slow Dazzle Worldwide Dimensions: 33 in x 24 in (84 cm x 60 cm) in 1974, Baker took over the role of the Doctor from Jon Pertwee to become the Fourth Doctor in the BBC TV series. Doctor Who is a British science fiction television programme broadcast by BBC One since 1963. The programme depicts the adventures of a Time Lord called the Doctor, an extraterrestrial being who appears to be human. The Doctor explores the universe in a time-travelling space ship called the TARDIS. The TARDIS exterior appears as a blue British police box, which was a common sight in Britain in 1963 when the series first aired. With various companions, the Doctor combats foes, works to save civilisations & helps people in need. Because of the age of these posters, there are areas of wear & tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn. The good news is that when framed, the tears press up well against glass, & edges can be hidden by mats. Any wear picked up from years are part of the charm. When framed these colourful & detailed posters can become a centre piece for any room, to remind us of a simpler time. These posters are sent as unframed. They will be rolled up & delivered in a cardboard tube for protection.
