Description
1974 Original Vintage Guinness Poster, The Nag's Head, by Norman Thewell, pub lovers, advertising ale Irish stout print, wall art retro This poster comes from a portfolio of Inn Signs of well-known pub names by Norman Thewell, this one depicting The Nag's Head where the nag is not the horse that was expected, but an infuriated wife finding her husband at the pub, presumably when he is not supposed to be there!. Dimensions: 15.5 in x 12.5 in (39 cm x 32 cm) Norman Thelwell was an English cartoonist well known for his humorous illustrations of ponies & horses. He became a contributor to the satirical magazine Punch, who first published his work in 1952, beginning a 25-year relationship that resulted in more than 1,500 cartoons, of which 60 were used as front covers. Thelwell's cartoons show a very traditional British way of life & the love of the countryside. His style & humour of the equestrian world are likeable to the young & the old. This is a genius marketing approach in today's world that a cartoon appeals to many generations & that is not easily done these days. Because of the age of these posters, there are areas of wear & tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn or stained. The good news is that when framed, the tears press up well against glass, & edges can be hidden by mats. Any wear picked up from years are part of the vintage charm. When framed these colourful & detailed posters, with vibrant colours can become a centre piece for any room, to remind us of a simpler time. These posters are sent as unframed. They will be delivered in a cardboard backed envelope for protection. See the FAQ for more information on shipping, tracking & insurance options. 1974 Original Vintage Guinness Poster, The Nag's Head, By Norman Thewell, Pub Lovers, Advertising Ale Irish Stout Print, Wall Art Retro
