1967 RSPB British Water Birds Poster, from the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, ornithology, wall art decor by Noel William Cusa This is an original repaired 1967 poster from the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) about water-based British Birds such as heron, bittern, spoonbill, coot, kingfisher, grebe, divers & dippers. These bird prints posters charts are believed to date from 1967 & were originally painted by Noel William Cusa for the RSPB, the name N.W. Cusa is inscribed on every chart. They were printed by Weather oak offset, The Lodge, Sandy, Bedfordshire, England. Condition: there is a scratch that goes all the way through in the middle bottom of the poster which has been repaired. There has been sellotape around the edges in the past, & there are some pinholes. After a career in industry, Noel William Cusa became a successful bird artist. Living on the Norfolk coast he had ample opportunity to develop his ornithological interests. Cusa was a member of the Society of Wildlife Artists from 1965, becoming its chairman, also a member of Manchester Academy of Fine Arts showing regularly at both venues, in the provinces & abroad. British Museum & Natural History Museum hold his work, which also appeared in a number of books on birds. Because of the age of these posters, & their use in the classroom, there are areas of wear & tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn or stained. The good news is that when framed, the tears press up well against glass, & edges can be hidden by mats. When framed these colourful & detailed posters, with vibrant colours can become a centre piece for any room, to remind us of a simpler time. This poster will be rolled up & delivered in a cardboard tube for protection.
