Description
WMF stands for Wuerttembergische Metallwaren Fabrik, a German tableware manufacturer founded in 1853. They were big producers of Art Nouveau style tableware & this beautiful vase is of that period. I can see no makers marks but the number 401 is stamped on the inside of the base. I believe the metal is pewter or silver plate. It's worn a little on the handle to reveal brass coloured base metal. The design is very typical Art Nouveau with rose bud decoration & the splayed out base. There's a clear glass inner which slides out completely for cleaning. Makes a very pretty table centre piece.
