This rowan tree cushion cover will make a lovely gift for a tree lover & add a unique touch to ones sofa. The beautiful rowan tree was painted by my Grandfather, Yuri Vasnetsov (1900-1973). He was a Russian artist & illustrator most famous for the colourful folk art illustrations of children's books during the Soviet times. Same as many Russian children, I grew up with the cheerful books of nursery rhymes & fairytales that Yuri Vasnetsov illustrated. As a child, I often stayed with my Grandmother & listened to her stories about him. The flat & his studio in St Petersburg, Russia haven't changed much as my aunt still lives & works there (she is an artist too). Each year I visit my mum & aunt in summer, now with my kids & it's their turn to explore the many curious items & unusual clay toys the flat is full of & spend hours looking at the wonderful illustrations Yuri Vasnetsov, their Great Grandfather, created. My dream is to introduce more people to Yuri Vasnetsov, his artistic heritage & the beautiful world of imagination & colour he created. Size of the cover is approx. 45cm x 45cm The same design is printed on both sides: the back & the front of the cushion cover. Kapelki Art cushion covers are made of Organic Panama Natural Fabric (100% cotton) in England. Please note, this fabric has small pips in the cottons that can release during finishing & washing. This is part of the nature of the organic fabric however please note it might leave some unprinted dots on the fabric, which may be noticable with solid colours.
